The 2021 Durango is available with several six and eight-cylinder engines. The top-end SRT Hellcat trim comes with a Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V-8 engine that can generate a maximum of 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft torque. However, the base trim comes with a 3.6L Pentastar® V-6 engine that produces 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft torque. Other available powertrains are a 5.7L HEMI® V-8 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and a 6.4L HEMI® V-8 engine. While the former engine can produce 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft torque, the latter has a maximum output of 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft torque.

All trims in the 2021 Dodge Durango lineup come with an eight-speed automatic transmission system. Most trims are standard with RWD, with AWD available as an option on the SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat; however, AWD is standard on the SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat.
